Oof this really resonated Katie! From a fellow Chief Holiday Time Management Officer, Social Secretary, and Chief Holiday Meal Maker over in Amsterdam, I felt everything you said here! Thank you for sharing xx
Writing yourself into the story. Hit the nail on the head. Exactly this. Well written, Architect of Family Life and Organizer of all Things. You’re amazing.
This definitely hit a chord, beautifully written. I share the same worries that my contribution will solely be remembered as the crabby one – alas we make the wheels turn one way or another…
So many beautiful lines in there: 'frequently inspired to run to my keyboard as the ideas move through my heart to my head and my fingers,' sums up writing beautifully.
On a deeper note, your children may not see all the things you do quietly in the background, but they will feel them. From someone who grew up without a mum doing those things - she is not dead; she just had different priorities. I always knew no one had my back, that my safety net was non-existent. Your children will feel safe; they might not know it, because they have always felt it, but they do. Which is utterly incredible for a child, and you are utterly incredible for giving them that.
This but it’s 9 weeks. I call it same sh*t different place.
